FAT [ is the storage format used on Windows 3.X, FAT32 is Windows 9.X.It is an 16 bit and FAT32 is 32 bit.The limitations are it will handle only partitions 2gb sectors and file name up to 11 characters.Fat32 allow 255 characters in it file names and can handle any number of bytes as its size.
Ntfs means New Technology File System introduced with NT OS and more efficient than FAT32 which allows large contagious file and better features.It can not be used in older versions of NT.
